چکیده
Abstract A wise selection of tracers is critical for magnetic particle imaging (MPI). Most the current are based on superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) with a suitable coating. We prepared maghemite cores (γ-Fe 2 O 3 ) by coprecipitation Fe(II) and Fe(III) salts ammonium hydroxide followed oxidation hydrogen peroxide stabilization as an anionic ⊖ or cationic colloid ⨁ ). The were coated poly( N -(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide)-co- -[2-(hydroxyamino)-2-oxo-ethyl]-2-methyl-prop-2-enamide. particles characterized dynamic light scattering, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy, tested in vitro field-free point MPI scanner, compared to sodium hypochlorite commercially available Resovist®. had average diameter 8.0 nm 8.7 ); hydrodynamic was 88 nm. Zeta potential values both positively charged (+52 mV) negatively (–60 provided good colloidal stabilization. Spinel structure confirmed spectroscopy. uncoated γ-Fe yielded signal lower (by 16 %) than Resovist; ones reached % Resovist signal. Anionic higher (uncoated particles, 15 comparable (coated ones) relative substantially dispersion. Control scored weakest results. To conclude, size, narrow size distribution, stability predispose synthetized use tracer MPI. dispersion commercial tracers.

Magnetic Behaviour of Maghemite Nanoparticles Studied by Mössbauer Spectroscopy
Two systems of nanoparticles with different surface states have been prepared by sol-gel methods and analysed by X-ray diffractometry, transmission electron microscopy, thermal analysis and temperature dependent Mossbauer spectroscopy. Surface states and phase content, particle mean size and the magnetic anisotropy energy constant were evaluated.
متن کاملSize and surface effects in the magnetic properties of maghemite and magnetite coated nanoparticles.
An increasing number of promising applications for future technology is arising from size constraints in nanoparticles (NPs) and from the chemical manipulation of their surfaces. In this work, we analyse the finite-size and surface effects on polyacrylic acid-coated Fe(3)O(4) NPs and oleic acid-coated gamma-Fe(2)O(3) NPs by studying their magnetization curves at different temperatures. The meas...
متن کاملMagnetic Nanoparticles Coated with a Thermosensitive Polymer with Hyperthermia Properties
Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have been widely used to increase the efficacy of chemotherapeutics, largely through passive accumulation provided by the enhanced permeability and retention effect. Their incorporation into biopolymer coatings enables the preparation of magnetic field-responsive, biocompatible nanoparticles that are well dispersed in aqueous media. Here we describe a synthetic rou...
متن کاملPolymer-coated Iron Oxide Magnetic Nanoparticles – Preparation and Characterization
This contribution presents the production of polymer-coated iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles carrying functional groups on their surface and their basic characterization. The preparation of polymer-coated nanoparticles was carried out by a two-step process. In the first step, magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were prepared by a co-precipitation method from the solutions of FeCl2.4H2O and FeCl3.6...
